You will usually be prescribed B12 tablets from your GP or health professional if your vitamin B12 deficiency is caused by a lack of vitamin B12 in your diet. This will build up your B12 levels. If there is another reason for your B12 deficiency you will be prescribed injections of hydroxocobalamin throughout the year.

Folate Deficiency Treatment
You will usually be prescribed folic acid tablets from your GP or health professional. This will build up your folate levels. You might also be given dietary advice on how to help increase your folate levels.
